Cancer Support New Zealand

Every cancer, Every stage

Cancer changes life in ways that are both seen and unseen.

There are the physical changes that others may notice, and then there are the quieter but very real impacts — ongoing fatigue, disrupted sleep, reduced strength, changes in confidence, emotional strain, and the way ordinary daily life can become more difficult to manage.

Cancer Support New Zealand exists to provide free, practical, non-medical support for the visible and invisible effects of cancer.

We sit alongside medical treatment, offering steady, grounded support that helps people manage the everyday reality of living with cancer, in all its complexity.

Look Good Feel Better

Cancer Support New Zealand is the home of the Look Good Feel Better global programme.

These are small, structured community sessions designed for people who are managing its visible effects of cancer.

They offer a calm, supportive environment where participants can step away from treatment pressures for a short time and focus on practical self-care in a guided, respectful way.

    Fundraising with Inner Wheel

Inner Wheel clubs have been part of this work for many years, and that continued commitment is sincerely valued.

Your fundraising helps ensure that cancer support remains free and available in communities across Aotearoa New Zealand.

This support is not abstract. It directly enables programmes that people rely on during treatment and recovery — when energy is limited, routines are disrupted, and everyday tasks can take significant effort.

Whether through a morning tea, a club event, a raffle, or a larger community gathering, every contribution plays a meaningful role in sustaining this work.

If your club would like to discuss fundraising ideas or support, we would be very pleased to hear from you: fundraising@cancersupport.org.nz

    Where your support goes

All funds raised go directly into Cancer Support New Zealand programmes delivered throughout New Zealand.

This includes community-based support sessions, online programmes, volunteer training, and maintaining access to services in both metropolitan and regional communities.

The aim is simple: to ensure that practical support is available to people wherever they are, when they need it.

Your support helps keep this work free, so it remains accessible to anyone affected by cancer.

    Connecting with your event

We are always grateful for opportunities to connect with Inner Wheel clubs and communities.

If you would like someone from Cancer Support New Zealand to speak at your event, it is helpful if you can include:

      • date and time
      • location
      • expected number of attendees
      • brief outline of the event

We are also sometimes able to support fundraising events with raffle items or hampers, with thanks to our sponsors.

    Thank You

It is often the steady, practical support that matters most, knowing there is somewhere to turn, and that help is available when things feel difficult or uncertain.

Cancer Support New Zealand exists to provide that support alongside medical care, so no one has to face the everyday impact of cancer alone.

We are deeply grateful to Inner Wheel for the long-standing role you continue to play in making this work possible across communities in Aotearoa New Zealand.
