Operation Uplift

Operation Uplift

The IW Club Of Aotea Auckland, District NZ291, New Zealand present their Happier Futures Better Lives, Unique project -  "Operation Uplift". To provide support for women in the Pacific Islands.

These bras will be sent to women in the pacific islands who have limited resources and in some cases have never had bra of their own or a bra that has fitted adequately.  At Uplift Project, bras are donated and sent to women in need of extra support. All women deserve and appreciate the common dignity of a bra whether it is for work of social occasions. Bras support and control breast swing when they bend to garden or cook at ground level, or in humid climates they can help prevent rashes, fungal infections and abscesses by allowing air circulation.

The club has had great support from other clubs in District NZ291 who have helped them to collect over 400 bras. Bras will be collected until the end of June 2016, when they will be sent to the Uplift Project organisation for shipment to the Islands. They will also be providing all the support required in the way of funds to cover shiping costs in order to send these bras to the worthy ladies in the Pacific Islands.
